Jody Miller was expecting far worse when someone called him on Tuesday to let him know about a prank involving his billboard.

When he was told someone added a pink tutu underneath his photo, he found it perfectly funny, and decided to use the attention it was getting to do some good in the community.

“I was imagining it to be a little worse than what it was,” Miller told NowMedia. “But then someone finally sent me a photo and I saw what it was.”

He says it was a “super harmless prank” so he put it online and it got some good traction. He decided to use it as an opportunity to bring some attention to a local organization.

Miller promised to make a donation matching the number of reactions the post got to the Kelowna Ballet. By this morning the post had 200 reactions, so he made a $200 donation to the organization.

He adds that he has been told Pattison Group already removed the add-on, but says he “certainly didn’t care either way.”

“It just seemed like a good opportunity. It was getting a lot of positive attention online and I thought rather than just leave it at that I could take this opportunity to do something good.”

He said his girlfriend gave him the idea to make a donation, “making a positive thing out of something that was really silly.”
